Spokesperson

Carsten P. Welsch, University of Liverpool

Carsten P. Welsch, the new FLAIR spokesperson since April 2015, is project leader of the ultra-low energy storage ring (USR) project. He is a Full Professor at the University of Liverpool and head of the Accelerator Physics Group, based at the Cockcroft Institute of Accelerator Science and Technology. In addition, he coordinates the Marie Curie Initial Training Networks DITANET, oPAC and LA³NET. His research lies at the interface between atomic physics and accelerator sciences with a particular focus on electrostatic storage rings.

Thomas Stöhlker is the head of the atomic physics division of GSI Darmstadt and deputy spokesperson of the SPARC collaboration.
